A hair system is a term that is interchangeable with 'hair unit'. A hair replacement unit is designed to cover areas of baldness caused by various forms of hair loss. A hair replacement unit/system may come in the form of a wig, toupee, volumiser, and integration topper. Materials used to create a hair unit are often made from a type of lace, monofilament material, or skin-like poly, and are attached to the head using a variety of non-surgical methods; including adhesive, micro rings, tape, or pressure clips.
The more durable the hair system is the more noticeable the hair system may be. For example, a Poly skin system is a fine base material and is less easy to detect. Lace is both durable and delicate, but less so than Poly. Monofilament is the most durable of materials and is easier to maintain. However, a monofilament base may be more detectable; depending on hair density and style.
We provide bespoke hair systems, and pre-custom hair systems that can be personally tailored to you.
No. We can match your hair system to your natural colour. However, unless opting for a fully customised unit, grey hairs will be synthetic.
Yes. All hair types, Afro, Asian, and European hair textures, are welcome to receive non-surgical hair replacements here at Rita Rose Hair.
If the hair system is attached securely then it should withstand all sporting activities. However, if your system is due for re-bonding then you may find the system is less secure. Skin systems require more maintenance due to the lack of ventilation it provides, and as a result can cause moisture on the scalp which leads to a breakdown of the bond. To avoid excess moisture underneath the system it is always best to use lace, or a monofilament-based hair system to insure enough ventilation on the scalp when living an active lifestyle and to ensure a lasting bond.
We recommend two hair systems initially. This lessens wear and tear and as a result this puts less pressure on a single hair unit throuout the year with rotation. You also can receive a 10% discount.
Depending on how you maintain your hair, your hair systems could last upwards of six to twelve months with continuous wear. We recommend discussing after care do's and don'ts with your stylist. You may also find advice on how to miantain your hair system here.
